WHAT CAN I AS A BRIDE EXPECT FROM YOU?

We both design and import unique bridal wear for discerning brides., specializing in affordable modern and bohemian made to order wedding dresses that are available for sale or rent. Our range design-forward and made with quality materials and keen attention to detail.

DO YOU OFFER CUSTOM DESIGN?

We are thrilled to announce that we will now offer bespoke design services to a limited number of brides per year. Respectfully, we will not accept or take inspiration from other bridal designers, but will work from reference photos. Bespoke gowns start from R 30,000 and you will have an opportunity to work alongside our designer Jo Malin to create your gown. All appointments will be held from our Cape Town Studio or via a Zoom meeting if you are unable to attend.

Additionally, our entire collection is customizable – we can change the neckline, back, train, adding or removing sleeves, and swap fabrics, so if there are element you want to swap or add we can create a bespoke dress for you, using the existing collection as the foundation.

WHEN SHOULD I BEGIN DRESS SHOPPING?

We have a comparatively short production times of 4 months, but advise you to start shopping sooner rather than later – ideally 5-6 months before your wedding date is due.

HOW CAN I BEST PREPARE MYSELF FOR THE APPOINTMENT?

Looking for a dress is an exciting time and it is normal to feel a little nervous, but please don’t worry as we make you feel welcomed and at ease. Bring a sense of open-mindedness as you never know what your dream gown feels like until you wear it!

HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN I BRING?

We recommend that you bring only the closest guests that will be supportive and have your interest at heart. It is normal for the bride to receive lots of opinions, so for occasion to be all about you finding the perfect dress for you, it is best to not bring more that four guests along.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO THE FITTING?

Wear skin coloured underwear that you don’t mind being seen in by our consultant. Wear something casual and easy to take on and off. We recommend a sundress with sandals in summer, or leggings and a sweater in winter. You won’t need to bring your wedding shoes to your first appointment – you’ll be more comfortable just wearing socks.

CAN I RUSH MY ORDER?     

Sometimes it is possible, so please enquire as we will do anything to help.

WHAT IS THE PRICE RANGE OF YOUR GOWNS?

Our made to order gowns range from R 16,500 – R 33,000. Bespoke rental gowns start from start from R7000.

WHAT SIZE GOWNS ARE AVAILABLE TO TRY ON ?

Most of our samples are between 8 – 12. Should you be outside of this range, we have ways of visualizing how the gown will look.

WHAT DOES MADE TO ORDER MEAN?

A brand new dress is created for your wedding and is made to your individual size. We will take your measurements at the appointment and draft a unique pattern which will make the gown fit you perfectly. Production is 4 months.

WHAT DOES CUSTOM HIRE ENTAIL?

A selected range can be hired on a made to order basis. Your rental gown is made to order with a production time of three months., and works the same way as our made to order gowns, only that you are renting the dress.


The beauty of this is that you will wear a brand new gown that has been made to your own measurements, especially for you only, and will fit you like a glove. Exactly as if you were buying a bespoke gown, only that you don’t need to worry about storing or selling the gown after. Find the available gowns here.

We also offer customizations on these gowns, such as changing the skirt fabric, adjusting the neckline and back design, adding sleeves and swapping a bodice from a dress to the skirt of another dress.

You will be able to try on similar gowns from the same designer in the studio to familiarize yourself with the silhouettes, fabrics and the quality. We can assure you the dress will be beautiful and made to the highest possible international standard.

Prices start from R 7000 to hire, with a 50% deposit required to initiate the manufacturing process

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I BOUGHT MY DRESS?

If your have purchased made to order dress, as soon as the deposit is paid and measurements taken, your dress will be made in your size with any modifications you require.
If you have bought a sample dress, your dress will be ready to take home as soon as the alterations are completed, which we recommend doing four weeks before the wedding.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR MY GOWN TO BE COMPLETED?

The dress will arrive within 4 months after you ordered it. Customized gowns could take a few weeks longer.

DO YOU HIRE OUT DRESSES?

We offer rental dresses on a made to order basis from our Boho Bride collection, or from Bespoke Jo Malin gowns. Our bespoke rental gowns are made brand new in your size, which means the dress is made especially for you and noone else would have worn it. They are the most affordable way of getting married in a brand designer dress which is tailored to perfection!

DO YOU OFFER ALTERATIONS?

The dress is made to your exact size as when you ordered, but it is likely that we need to adjust to fit perfectly. We do alterations one month before your wedding. Please note that alterations are quoted extra and the additional cost will depend on the extent of the work. Don’t forget to budget for alterations when planning your dress budget. An estimate is 5-10% of the cost of the dress.

HOW DOES PAYMENTS WORK?

To book your purchased made to order dress, a 50% deposit is required to confirm the order.
If you are renting a dress, a deposit of R 3,000 is required, which is refundable. The deposit is returned when the dress is handed in at the studio after the wedding, provided it is undamaged. Regrettably no refunds are issued on rental deposits.
For purchased gowns, the remainder is paid at your first appointment after the dress has arrived to the studio, before we start alterations.
For rental gowns, the full rental fee is payable no later than 60 days before then wedding.
We accept cash, card and payments via EFT. Please note that the payment must have cleared before the gown can be collected.

RETURNS & EXCHANGES

All sales are final. In the unlikely event there is a construction related problem, we will either repair or make you a new dress. We cannot offer exhanges or refunds if you have changed your mind. Deposit payments are not refundable for purchased gowns or rental gowns.
